About

Education was Dartmouth, Yale, Dartmouth (Tuck). Ex-BP, ex-CIA, ex-Soviet Studies (two now obsolete degrees), ex-McKinsey (two decades, mostly automotive), freelance since 2006. I’ve been on a few automotive boards, helped run IMVP for a while, was President of SAA for a year, have worked with venture capitalists (Kleiner Perkins for one), private equity (Greenbriar for one), industry groups (NADA for one), lectured on auto industry economics at various places (Coventry University for one), worked with equity analysts (ex-Bernstein star Max Warburton for one), and some more stuff.

I do project work mostly now: my criteria for tackling a gig are a) interesting topic, b) good people, and c) enough pay to keep my SCM subscription current. Contact me through LinkedIn.

I have owned 3 different NSXs (!), a WRX, an STi, a 928, an S2000. Miss the last one the most.

Very happily married for many years to a woman who defines the concept of “better half,” Ida, a cellist, teacher of cello, and head of the Cleveland Cello Society. Four kids, various places. Living in leafy Shaker Heights, Ohio, USA, on “America’s North Coast.”
